This course introduces students to the basics of utilizing a magnified scope. From focal planes to magnification variants, common types of reticles, as well as MOA vs Milrad adjustments; the user will learn the pros and cons to each optic set-up, how to pick the right equipment that fits your application, and other unconventional tasks that can be accomplished using magnified optics. Participants will employ both weapon mounted glass and free-hand/tripod mounted systems to accomplish various tasks during long-range shooting, hunting, duty/service and other applications at known and unknown distance.

Criteria:

Students will be briefed on how to effectively employ an array of different optics platforms and learn the concepts involved in their applications. This course will be taught in a classroom utilizing unique training methods and demonstrations and then culminate in a brief exercise.

Requirements:

Note taking materials (paper & pen)

Instructor equipment will be available for demonstrations and exercise
Students may bring their own rifle mounted optics but will be responsible for ammunition
